Team augmentation

Add Senior Engineers to Your Team, Not to Your Headcount

Our senior engineers joining your team — same standups, same repo, same code reviews.

You have a team and a roadmap that does not fit inside it. Hiring takes a quarter minimum and you are not certain the headcount is permanent. That is the situation this is for.

Our engineers join your team rather than sitting behind a wall. Your tools, your board, your rituals, your repo. They show up in your standup and take PR comments like anyone else. There is no project manager in the middle translating between you and the people doing the work — you talk to the engineers directly, because everything else adds latency and removes accountability.

01

What you get

Working overlap, stated honestly

Full working-day overlap with the UK, Germany, Switzerland and the Nordics. Four to six hours with US East, less with West. We tell you which timezones a specific person genuinely covers instead of claiming everyone is available at 3am.

Senior only, and the same people throughout

Most engineers on augmentation have eight-plus years behind them. You meet the people who will do the work before you commit, and they are the ones who show up. No bait and switch.

Knowledge stays with you

Our people write documentation and review your team's code as well as their own. When an engagement ends, the understanding does not leave with it.

Common questions

How is this different from regular outsourcing?

Outsourcing tends to happen behind a wall. We do the opposite. Your tools, your board, your rituals. Our people show up in your standup, push to your repo, take PR comments like everyone else. You do not get a project manager in the middle translating things. You get engineers.

Can you cover US timezones from Portugal?

Yes, within reason. Most of our team is happy to overlap four to six hours with US East, a bit less with West. For EU based clients there is full day overlap. We are pretty direct about which timezones a specific person can cover comfortably, so nobody ends up pretending to be awake at 3am.

How senior are the people you send in?

Most engineers on augmentation have eight plus years of experience. Not because the website says so, because junior plus new codebase plus new team is a bad combination. If you need a specific stack or a specific shape (say, a staff engineer, or someone who has done payments before), we say so upfront. No bait and switch.

What is the minimum commitment, and how quickly can someone start?

Engagements typically run in three-month blocks, which is roughly the point at which someone is fully productive in an unfamiliar codebase — shorter than that and you spend the whole engagement on onboarding. Start dates depend on who is free and what stack you need; we will give you a real date on the first call rather than an optimistic one.

Is this how we hire the engineer permanently?

That comes up and we are not precious about it. If someone embeds well and both sides want to make it permanent, we would rather have that conversation than block it. Talk to us early so it is a planned transition rather than an awkward one.
