On 2 November 2026 Alongside launched its AI Centre of Excellence on alongside.team. An AI centre of excellence is one place where everything your organisation already knows is joined into a single AI brain. We build it with you, it reads from the systems you already have, and it stays under your control.
What is an AI centre of excellence?
Most organisations already know a lot. The trouble is that the knowledge is scattered across systems, files, notes and people's heads. Nobody sees all of it at once.
The brain joins it up and does not forget. It reads from the systems you already run and changes none of them. Your people still make the decisions. The brain puts what matters in front of them first.
What can it do?
We start with questions, not with technology. A question is something your board or your management team really needs answered, and that needs several sources at once. To show how it works, the page walks through four illustrative examples, each with three questions:
- A bank: early warning on small business credit, triage of anti-money-laundering alerts, and collections that recover money.
- A hospital group: outpatient no-shows, emergency and bed flow, and insurer claim denials.
- A manufacturer: predictive maintenance, scrap and first-pass yield, and energy cost per part.
- A retailer: stock on the shelf, on-time-in-full delivery on the last mile, and supplier scorecards.
What does each question produce?
Something a team can act on. Each question produces a risk map with every case on one line, a list ranked by urgency, reports in the format your committee or board already uses, and a one-page case for each intervention.
Are the examples real clients?
No. The four organisations on the page are illustrative and built on fictional data. We use them to show the same method in a bank, a hospital group, a manufacturer and a retailer. We are not claiming results for anyone.
Where does our data stay?
Inside your perimeter. Each organisation gets its own brain on one shared engine. Your data stays yours, and what makes your business different stays yours too.
There is also benchmarking. Data can be pooled anonymously, so each organisation can compare itself with its peers on things like default rates, no-show rates, equipment effectiveness and supplier delivery.
Does it replace our systems or our people?
No. It reads from the systems you have and does not touch them. The calls stay with your people.
Where do we start?
With one question. Your board names the questions that matter most. We prove the first ones on your own data. Each new question is then built on the same brain.
