Onda Saúde's home care coordination platform is in production

Onda Saúde, a home care service for families in Porto and the surrounding area, has put its home care coordination platform into production. Alongside built the platform for Brightintuition, the company behind Onda Saúde. The final demo took place on 21 September 2026, production followed on 3 October, and the pilot with the first families started in October.

What is a home care coordination platform?

It is the tool a care service runs on every day. When a family has a relative who needs clinical support at home, many people are involved: a case manager, nurses, doctors, therapists, and the family itself. Someone has to know who is visiting, when, what was done, and what has to be paid. A coordination platform puts all of that in one place, so nobody works from spreadsheets and message threads.

What is Onda Saúde?

Onda Saúde offers clinical care at home, coordinated by a named case manager for each family. Families get one point of contact, a weekly report and a single monthly invoice. You can read more about the service on the Onda Saúde website.

What does the platform do?

We built it with the Onda Saúde team around the way the service really runs. In short:

  • Onboarding of health professionals. An administrator invites each professional, who registers and sends the required documents online.
  • Scheduling. Administrators book visits. A professional can accept a visit, decline it with a reason, or propose another time.
  • Case managers. Each family can have a case manager assigned, and the visit reports carry the case manager's contact.
  • Visit reports. Professionals file a report after each visit. The platform sends reminders if a report is late and tells the administrators if it stays late.
  • Billing. Each family gets one monthly invoice. Each professional gets one monthly summary of the services they delivered.
  • A metrics dashboard. Visits scheduled, completed and cancelled, punctuality and client satisfaction, in one view for the administrators.

How did it get to production?

We started in April 2026. From then on, the client saw the platform at regular demos and tested it in user acceptance sessions, in August and September. Each round shaped the next one. The final demo on 21 September covered the last pieces: billing, subscriptions and the scheduling rules. After that, the platform moved to production on 3 October 2026.

It helped that the client was close to the work. The people who run Onda Saúde tested the platform themselves and told us what it had to handle. That kept the scope tied to the service, not to a feature list.

What happens in the pilot?

The pilot started small, with the first families in October. That is deliberate. A small start lets the team see how the platform behaves with real families and real visits before the service opens wider, and fix what needs fixing while the numbers are still low.
